Georgia Germein

Biography

18-year-old Georgia Germein is an Adelaide-based singer/songwriter who has been developing her musical craft since she was four years of age. She is a multi-instrumentalist and gifted composer who has won a number of prestigious awards including the ASME Young Composers Award and the 2007 South Australian Premier's Award. She was also a finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition.

Georgia's songs are wide-ranging in theme, richly evocative, deeply heartfelt and reflect her musical journey over many years. They draw on her experience of growing up in the bush in the Adelaide Hills combined with her commitment to the Environment, Aboriginal Reconciliation, her work in the Kalahari, South Africa and Nepal as World Vision's 2010 Youth Ambassador.

Georgia’s list of live appearances is extensive and include sold out shows at various Festivals such as the 2010 Adelaide Fringe, Fuse, Sea and Vines Festival, Fleurieu Folk Festival, Melbourne Cup Day, World Vision Global Leadership Conventions, Concert for a Cause, Loud Shirt Day with Axle Whitehead, Adelaide Showground’s, ABC's Busking for Burma and various Weddings and Private Functions. More recently she has supported Australian music legends Renee Geyer, Brian Cadd and Russell Morris.

Having just returned from a highly successful tour of Malaysia, Georgia is back in the studio finishing her debut album with Producer Ian Pritchett (Angus & Julia Stone and the Beautiful Girls).
